A refrigerator failing is a race against your groceries. Here is what the symptom usually means, so you know whether to move the food now.
If both compartments are warm, suspect the condenser fan, the start relay or the compressor itself. Before you call, pull the unit out and look at the condenser coils underneath or behind: in Orlando homes with pets, coils pack with hair and dust and the fridge simply cannot shed heat. Cleaning them fixes a real share of these calls.
The single most common refrigerator complaint we get. On almost every modern unit the fridge is cooled by air blown over from the freezer, so if the freezer is fine the problem is airflow: a failed evaporator fan, a jammed damper, or a frost buildup blocking the vent. It is a repair, not a replacement, and usually a same-day one.
Frost on the back panel points to a defrost system failure — the defrost heater, the thermostat or the control board. No frost and no cooling points to the sealed system or the compressor. The difference matters enormously: one is a routine repair, the other often means it is time to replace.
Water under the crisper drawers is almost always a clogged defrost drain — a five-dollar problem that looks like a disaster. Water on the floor points to the water line, the inlet valve or the drain pan. Either way, get it fixed before it reaches your flooring.
